'Birding Field Trip'
The avifauna of the Cape Range peninsula
reflects the range of habitats on the Cape, with its narrow coastal plains, dissected limestone uplands, sand plains and sand ridges,
extensive inter-tidal flats and large areas of
mangroves. The bird fauna is generally representative of the semi-arid
north west coasts and hinterlands.

A keen amateur 'birder' and photographer Macca loves to show visitors his amazing 'back yard'.
Look for kingfishers, terns, sand pipers,
plovers, curlews, herons, egrets, brahminy kites, jabiru, sea eagles, snipe,
fairy wrens, cuckoo shrikes, crested bell birds, quail, bustards, harriers, kites,
mangrove herons, oyster catchers, crested pigeon, dotterels,
honeyeaters, wood swallows, greenshanks, godwits, rainbow bee eaters, spinifex
pigeons, ospreys, pelicans, field wrens to name a few.
